Rush Comes Clean

One of the most perplexing aspects of this whole election was the way Rush Limbaugh criticized conservatives for threatening to abandon Republicans. On a number of occasions, he chastised what he called "cut and run conservatives".

I was fuming because I was one of those "cut and run conservatives". Except that the way I saw it was that I was not cutting and running, it was the Republicans in Washington who cut and ran from me and other conservatives.

Yesterday, Rush came clean. In a long segment on his show, he explained the reason he "carried water" (his words) for Republicans who did not deserve his support. The reason being was that he felt conservatives are in a better position trying to reform straying Republicans than trying to convert liberals.

Rush was also pretty vocal about how frustrated he was about having to do it. It was a great monologue -- classic Rush. He obviously knew how good it was too because he posted both the transcript and audio of it on his website. Check it out here.

(I bet if Rush was President,
Jack Bauer would be his Sec. of Defense!)
