Chickens Coming Home to Roost

Well it's about 12:20am here and I'm going to call it a night. The Dems have taken control of the House, and now as the results continue to come in, they may take the Senate as well.

What annoys me the most is the barely suppressed glee of the "objective" media. I had CNN on for a while and they're so happy they can barely contain themselves.

I certainly don't feel bad for the Republicans -- they've got no one to blame but themselves. They took Congress in '94 by convincing the public that they were going to clean house: we were going to get smaller gov't, less corrupt gov't, etc. (Remember the pledge of the "freshman" House members to only serve a couple of terms? Do you know how many kept that pledge?) Instead, Republicans got comfortable and corrupt themselves.

I'm not happy to see the Dems back in charge. But that's the flaw in our two-party system. You either get Dumb or you get Dummer. There's no third alternative.
