Republicans Lost, but Conservative
Ideals Still Won on Tuesday

I took a pass yesterday from following the election fallout, but did read a number of articles today. Probably the most interesting aspect of Tuesday's election is that while the Republicans lost (big time), conservatism actually did quite well.

I don't have many particulars, but a number of the Democrats who won ran on conservative principles. For example, Casey won in Pennsylvania. While he unfortunately beat the most pro-life senator in the country (Rick Santorum), Casey himself is pro-life. I also heard that some of the Dems in the South were vocal 2nd Amendment supporters.

While the radical leftists like MoveOn.org are likely crowing and taking credit for the Dem's sweep, they are, as usual, deluding themselves. In fact, the biggest success the far left had was beating Joe Lieberman in the Connecticut Democratic primary and nominating Ned Lamont in his place. However, Lieberman ran as an independent and whipped Lamont 49% to 39% on Tuesday.

So, it should be quite interesting when these leftists come calling on Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, asking for a seat at the table so they can start dictating their liberal agenda to the new Congressional leadership. Pelosi and Reid, unless they are themselves delusional, will slam the door in their face. It was not liberalism that the electorate endorsed on Tuesday. Their vote was a rejection of Republican leadership -- or, more accurately, the lack thereof.
